Healing the Mother Wound Workshop

29356684_2124771411135774_955514959322677248_n.jpg

We are so honored to have this awesome workshop happening in our studio.

Join Andrea of Sacred Pathways for an introduction to the sacred adventure of Healing The Mother Wound.

The collective unconscious of our society places high and often unrealistic expectations on the Mother Figure. We, as a culture believe that the “Mother” should be selfless and be nurturing to others needs all of the time. These held beliefs create a great deal of pain for women as we are either always trying to be the “perfect mother” or we judge other women, including our own mothers, who do not live up to these expectations.

In this class, we will explore the origin of the Mother Wound and how it impacts our relationship with our own mothers, other women and ourselves. We will engage with the Mother Archetype, through meditation, journaling, and creative expression

Financial investment of $20.00. Sliding Fee available for those in need. Make payments to secure your spot at: paypal.me/sacredpathways

Cash and Checks will be accepted the night of the event but you need to RSVP to Sacredpathways1@gmail.com or call Andrea @ 616-635-8281 secure your spot.

The class is facilitated by Andrea Sulak, MA LLP. Andrea has been practicing principles of Humanistic Psychology with individuals and groups since 1999. One of her professional passions is working with females to overcome trauma, shame, and low self-worth issues. She also facilitates Chakradance™ and meditative dance classes in the Mid-west.

Art Journaling Using Mixed Media

Join Terri & Kitty for this introductory workshop into mixed media art journaling.  Mixed media journals are beautiful/therapeutic expressions of your innermost feelings.

Open up new pathways and possibilities within yourself as you tap into your inner artist igniting a fire of creativity and confidence. In this very personal exploratory process, there are no wrong lines, no mistakes, and no wrong way to do it, just a chance to uniquely express your thoughts, feelings and artistic style.

We will begin with a short meditation, then get our hands dirty as we create one page in our blank journal using our supplies. Participants will leave with a journal of their own, along with a list of supplies needed to continue the practice at home.

No experience is necessary. This is a perfect intro to journaling for those who think "I am not creative", for those who love to find new ways to express themselves creatively, or for a positive way to tune in and let out pent up feelings and emotions. It is also a bonus way to recycle old art supplies into a new use.

Saturday, March 24 | 1:30-3:30 pm | $25

This class is limited to 8 participants. If you would rather pay at the event via cash or check, please send an email to terri@getoffgo.com to reserve your place.

Come learn new ways to tune into your own body, focusing on posture, balance and subtle shifting of your energy. This workshop will be led by Scott and Hung from the Yushinkan Dojo in Grand Rapids. During the workshop we will be partnering with others to learn how to better "listen" through a light touch, and to observe and report back from the outside.

Paired Partner Exploratory Workshop

Join us for an exploratory workshop using paired partner exercises to strengthen body and mind, and improve focus, balance and self-awareness. This workshop will be led by Scott Van Der Velde and Hung Le from the Michigan Daito Ryu Study Group at Yushinkan Dojo here in GR. They are passionate about bringing this art to a larger audience and to explore its impact on yoga and other practices.

Based on the 1200-year-old samurai martial art Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu, which focuses on subtle manipulations of balance, you will be introduced to a mindset that can transform any practice (martial arts, yoga, or otherwise) and even impact how present you are in your own body and life.

Daito Ryu, once secret and passed from generation to generation through the Takeda clan, originated in India and moved through China before arriving in Japan. This workshop will be mindfulness based, rather than technique based, and will center around a six direction energy practice which will help you tune into your body, release tension and stress, and improve your balance in life.

Cost for this event is a suggested donation of $10. Dress comfortably. You do not need to come with a partner, we will be paired up and will be working with each other and with other students from the Dojo. We are limiting this first workshop to 10 people due to our space limitations.

Best Life Series: A Happier You

Ever wonder what vibe you are giving off ?

Life can be stressful and hectic and we sometimes get so busy we stop fueling our positivity, we forgo our fun for accomplishment, and we dim our own light sending off a negative vibe instead of a positive one.

You can set the tone for a happier you by making time to raise your vibration.  At this participatory workshop you will learn ways to shift your energy into Joy, Peace + Positivity.

Terri will lead this FUN workshop featuring meditation, creativity/art, dancing and an exercise in finding gratitude. Class is limited to 8 participants.

Wondering exactly what your vibration is? Your vibration is the energy you give off to the world, your "vibe". Everything in the universe is made up of energy vibrating at different frequencies. You are made up of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual energy. When your vibration is low you may be struggling with a variety of problems: physical pain, money issues, depression, or anxiety and when your vibration is high, you may feel you are in the flow of life, full of optimism, joy, peace + purpose. Since like attracts like, per the law of attraction, it is important to keep your energy vibration high to attract joy and live in the flow of life, releasing struggle and stress.

Come spend an evening refueling YOU! (You are so worth it). Remember to dress comfortably.

Monday, January 15 | 6-8 pm | $20
